E. A Hip Hop: Youth’s Podium – “Simama” by Kenyan Artists

This Hip Hop song is probably one of the most political consciousness songs coming out of East Africa. The song calls on the people to get up & stand up against corruption that has its roots so deep in East Africa’s political systems. Looking back, groups like Kalamashaka, and Neccessary Noize are among Kenyan Hip Hop groups that have survived and climb the ladder of fame because of their political consciousness lyrics. I like how hip hop music brings the youths of East Africa together. While politics continue to struggle to unify East Africa, remember East Africa Community, but hip hop has crossed the borders and create one nation under the umbrella of E. A Hip Hop where the youths are able to find their voices away from the political podiums which are controlled and dominated by the older generation. so lets Simama, lets rise against Mafisadi, you know, aint nothing going to stop untill body bags of corrupt politicians start to pile up..
